What happens to your roof if it’s high nailed

Upon inspecting this roof, it was almost immediately apparent that this roof was a victim of high nailing. High nailing can cause the nails to shoot through the shingles or cause gravity to pull them down the roof over time because when the nail is not put in the nail line, it gets nailed in a much thinner part of the shingle.

    As you can see in this picture, I circled the holes left behind by the nails and put a line on the shingle where the nails should be in the nail line. These holes are way above the nail line, causing the shingles to slide down the roof. Unfortunately, the whole roof is like this, and this is beginning to happen in many different areas.
